🎆 July 4th Traditions in Los Alamos 🇺🇸
Every year, the Los Alamos YMCA hosts a Fourth of July parade for kids. They decorate their bikes—and sometimes themselves! — before parading from the YMCA to Ashley Pond. This year, however, the route took a detour to Fuller Lodge, as Los Alamos County prepared for a drone light show in place of the usual fireworks. (And yes, the drone show was awesome!)
🚒 As for the Brigade, we always try to get one or both of our antique fire engines into the parade lineup. Last year, only the 1942 GMC was operational, but it broke down just as we were leaving headquarters. This year, once again, the GMC was the only vehicle “mission ready” — and it made it to the parade and back home without a hitch! Kids of all ages were thrilled to see it rumbling down the route and parked on the lawn of Fuller Lodge.
