The Los Alamos Auxiliary Fire Brigade is a volunteer group and relies on donations in order to obtain and maintain group equipment and supplies. Examples of group gear include radios, rescue litters, medical equipment such as dressings, oxygen, etc., and vehicle maintenance.

Members purchase and use all of their own personal gear for searches. However, the brigade tries to provide the expensive specialized group gear that is required for search and rescue and medical standby, so that volunteers are not expected to personally fund these community services.
Please consider making a donation, however small, to help maintain this organizations ability to assist the public. Contributing to the Fire Brigade is an investment in our local community emergency capability. We hope that you never need it, but the efforts of our volunteers—using equipment funded by your donations—may one day save the life of yourself or someone you love.

If you haven’t yet set up smile.amazon.com to pick a particular charity, just go to smile.amazon.com and walk through the few steps it takes. Enter “los alamos auxiliary fire brigade” in the “charity of your choice” search box. After choosing your charity, it requires zero extra effort on your behalf, you need merely remember to shop through “smile.amazon.com” rather than “amazon.com.”

LANL Employee Giving
Finally, if you happen to be an employee at Los Alamos National Laboratory, please consider giving through that venue. LANL will match donations made to our organization. Go to the Giving Tool on the internal website, click on “Employee Giving” then “Payroll Deductions” then search for “fire brigade”. We will be at the top of the list, as “Los Alamos Civil Defense Auxiliary Fire Brigade”. If you haven’t set this up before, I assure you it is extremely easy. You can do a one-time donation or set up a regular deduction from each paycheck. For our small organization, even a few dollars a month makes a huge difference.
