July 4th Children’s Parade

July 4th found a few Brigade members and their family driving our 1921 LaFrance and our Rescue in the Los Alamos YMCA sponsored children’s parade. The parade consisted of kids of all ages on foot, bicycle, strollers, etc. going from the YMCA to the Elephant at Ashley Pond. At the pond there was hotdogs, watermelon and face painting booths along with our vehicles. Kids, both young and old loved the old fire engine and Rescue. Our 101 year old engine ran really well except for a loose battery terminal, and easy fix, that caused a starting problem at one point. We got back to CD-1 just before the rain started. A fun time was had by all.

Finally, a link to a video recorded by the Los Alamos Daily Post of her chugging down the street… https://youtu.be/oucGqrIEnIM
