As we start sliding into spring and more people venture out we see an uptick in missions. The March 3rd call from the Ordering Manager requested ground pounders for a missing person near Tres Piedras in Northern New Mexico. Eight members of the Brigade responded with an ETA of 9:30 a.m. at Incident Base. Upon arriving at Incident Base the team was split up into smaller teams with some providing support for canine teams. The Brigade teams had just started their missions and had spent around half an hour in the field when the New Mexico State Police helicopter located the subject. Unfortunately they didn’t survive the previous nights cold temperatures which were in the teens. Our condolences to the family.
